At university in Seattle several of Udai’s friends really struggled to manage their work, studies and social life. Despite how hard working they were many of them had 2-3 jobs. Even for university changing their work schedule could potentially mean finding a new job. So in 2014, Udai came up with the original idea of Tuki while he was in Singapore working for one of the coolest consumer foods and technology entrepreneurs in the world Ravi as one of the youngest members of the Renew team working on cutting edge technologies in Med Tech, Nano Tech, Clean Energy and Pure Water.
After Singapore, Udai continued to cultivate Tuki during his time working in Africa and Europe before moving to the Bay Area where Tuki was born at Stanford at the Ignite program in the Stanford Graduate School of Business. At Ignite Tuki had an incredible team of five other individuals Wenqi aka Ninja, Aditya aka Adi, Fern aka Chef, Cristine aka Crispy and Noha aka Mom as well as Matt aka Zim from Booth School of Business at Chicago.
At Stanford, Tuki went from an idea to a thoroughly investigated business opportunity. Udai and the team soon got accepted into the Stanford Venture Studio and the framework was designed for what today is Tuki Today.
After Palo Alto, Tuki got accepted into Zero Gravity Acceleration in Portugal, where Udai felt the need for Tuki was strong in Europe. Portugal became our home and we’ve since have worked very hard.
With the help of our partners we have gone from strength to strength and we’re particularly proud to be part of the Startup Lisboa, Maze X and Emerge communities here in Lisbon.
We are now looking forward to the next chapter for Tuki.
